The Smith Institue of Martial Arts was founded in 1990 by Professor Smith, 7th Degree Black Sash in Tai-Wei Kung Fu, 6th Degree Black Belt in USA Shudo-Kan Karate.Professor Smith has been studying martial arts for over 30 years. He studied under Dr David Brownridge. The Smith Institute of Martial Arts offers two different styles of martial arts, see right column. A variety of different instructors lead at the Institute. Participants observe and promote the five maxims of karate: character, sincerity, effort, etiquette and self control. Being a member of the Smith Institute developes honor, courage, strength and respect. Members are a family; growing together, aiding each other and living strong together.
